Importing from Blogger

If you already have an existing Blogspot.com blog, and you already have several posts in there, then in this video, I’m going to show you how to import that content over into a new WordPress blog.

The first thing you need to do is log in to your WordPress dashboard and under the Tools option, you’ll see a link for Import. Now, just click on that.

Next you’ll see under the Import page a list of services that you can import content from. Now, we are interested in Blogspot, or Blogger.com, so we’re gonna click on the first one here.

Next, what you need to do is to authorize these blogs so that you can import the existing content from Blogspot. And then you’ll be taken to the Google accounts page, so there’s a warning message here that says “This website has not been registered with Google…” etc., etc., but you can just click on Grant Access.

And now, you’ll be taken back to your WordPress dashboard, and you can see the blog name, the blog URL, and also the amount of posts and comments that you have. So once you have verified that this information is correct, you can just click on Import.

Alright, and now the progress bar shows that 10 out of 10 posts have been imported, and 5 out of 5 comments have been imported as well. So now, let’s look at the posts. Just click on Post and click on Edit.

Okay, and here, you can see the default WordPress post, and these are all the content that I have just imported over from my Blogspot, or Blogger.com, blog. So that’s how easy it is to shift your blog from Blogspot to a new WordPress blog.
