Austin police have identified a 35-year-old pedestrian who was killed while traveling in a crosswalk in South Austin last week.

According to a preliminary police investigation, a white Toyota Prius was heading west on Little Texas Lane and turning south onto South Congress Avenue on Dec. 21 at 4:10 p.m.

Curtis Thomas Grace was in the crosswalk with a walk signal when he was struck by the Prius making the turn, police said.

Grace was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the case is ongoing and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives at 512-974-5789.

Austin police said Grace’s case is the city’s 77th traffic death of 2016. At this time in 2015, police were investigating 95 traffic deaths in Austin.
